🌊 Enhance Water Clarity with the Marineland SeaClone Foam Cartridge Review

I bought these because I was having trouble sucking my live juveniles into the filters. They protect against brood, but they don't stay as good as we'd like. They are easy to clean and I haven't had any clogging issues.

I have an older model skimmer, the Sea Clone 140. This replacement sponge fits perfectly in the hole on this model. I'm glad this replacement sponge was available because it was badly needed. This saved me from having to buy a new protein skimmer because there are no replacement parts for an already great working one.

I used these as a pre-filter by attaching them to my canister's inlet tubes and hanging over the rear filters. The problem with most pre-filters is that they are too fine-meshed, clog quickly and disrupt the water flow. However, these pre-filters have a coarse screen to trap larger debris and I only have to clean them by doing two weekly water changes.

I can use them with a Fluval can just by stretching the inside a little. It works very well and doesn't seem to slow down the thread. It acts as a good pre-filter. Food that gets stuck on the outside is usually quickly eaten by the fish. All in all it was a good buy. I bought another brand that was too small in the past.

I ordered this with crossed thumbs. I have a SeaClone 100 Protein Skimmer and cannot find replacement sponge filters for it. I bought filters for other products and had to trim and cut through the sponge/foam to get the tubing through. I am bidding on these in the hope they would fit and they fit perfectly! The manufacturer has a through hole. They are porous enough to allow good water flow to the protein skimmer. They become a regularly ordered product.

Love the fact that there are two sponges each fitted with two mesh screens/pads to prevent the sponges from collapsing and getting into the mesh filter air to be sucked recording. I use them on all my power filters to keep fish and shrimp from getting sucked into the propellers. So you can be sure that your aquarium inhabitants are safe. Take it out of the box, wash it, and then install it on the mesh filter inlet pipe (with or without filter, depending on the filter inlet pipe). Then squeeze…
