I bought this historic reenactment mug as a cheap alternative to my prettier stoneware mugs. The first thing to note is that this is a teacup, so it's small. I've been using (and mine) this mug daily for about a month and the bad factory taste still hasn't gone away. Why do I keep using it? I like how durable it is considering I'm a little clumsy and prone to breaking fragile pottery and glassware. I'm not sure I'll be keeping this mug long term as it doesn't offer a great taste experience. I am definitely disappointed in the taste and smell of the polish. This is a breach of the deal. I purchased this wooden mug from IslandOffer in hopes of using it on an adult island/pirate scavenger hunt for Valentine's Day. So I needed a wooden cup of good enough quality to use as a tea cup after the hunt. I am VERY IMPRESSED with this mug. This is real wood with a beautiful texture (of course the texture is different for each mug) and a great finish. It's firm but not heavy.
