The glass does what it promises, but it has one major flaw. This company does not sell spare parts. I accidentally threw away the plastic ring covering the rim, which is easy since it's on top of the garbage bag. Without them you won't be able to fully seal the top. I couldn't even find the company's website let alone the part I needed. So if you need such a device, get it from a company that sells spare parts.

Not impressed yet. I've only been using it for a day and today the open/close cycle got messed up so it kept opening and not closing. I turned it off for a few minutes, took out the batteries for a few minutes to reset it, and generally "played" with the thing to get it working. This bin is ok but not worth what I paid for it. It's fairly thin metal and had several large scratches. The sensor is too sensitive. I want it to open when my hand approaches the lid, not when someone walks by. I don't really like the bin - it uses D type batteries and has an annoying bracket which is very difficult to remove and put on to replace the smell / Perfume holders and batteries. You have to loosen those tiny screws and the cumbersome packaging bag holder will fall off. I could never put it on properly and couldn't even use the mount - it took too long to fiddle with.
