This product is very difficult to assemble. The thread in the collar is filled with paint. It took me half an hour to peel off the paint to get the studs into the collar. The fit between the green legs and the red shell is very tight, possibly due to the color as well. It took two hands and a LOT of FORCE to plant the legs. This tree stand is well priced and I love the 'retro' style. However, upon receipt I am a bit disappointed. For assembly according to the instructions, the metal was stripped of paint in several places and the stand's red shell was bent slightly around the edges to accommodate poorly stamped support legs. with 4 eyebolts to attach the Christmas tree. I haven't seen a stand that beats this style. I've had the same shelf for over 30 years. My wife and I got the largest tree (9ft) we could find in the first year of using it.
