Best value small bluetooth speaker

I was looking for a compact bluetooth travel speaker. I was on a budget of around $100 and there is a lot to choose from in this price range. After some research I settled on JBL Flip, Soundfreaq SFQ-4 and Logitech UE Mini Boombox. They're all great, but each has their own strengths and weaknesses. Finally! JBL speaker that works via Bluetooth.

I've been looking for a portable speaker to connect to my Mac devices (MBP and iPhone 5S). I had to send the first one back because the bluetooth didn't work, but the one that arrived yesterday (from a different manufacturer) paired with my iOS device with no problems. Enough sound to fill multiple rooms (open floor plan). Well to be honest it took me several attempts to connect the speaker to my MBP. I had to read troubleshooting tips on multiple pages. I think the problem lies in the coupling

Great sound and ease of use if you don't have to rely on Bluetooth functionality

My friend wanted a portable sound system that could play her iPod wirelessly, but she didn't want anything bulky. excellent sound but is no longer produced and is too big for their needs.
