Description of ๐Ÿ’ป JoyReken Vertical USB 3.1 Key-A Type-E Adapter: Upgrade Your Front Panel with USB 3.0 20Pin Header Support

Supports all motherboards with USB 3.0/ 3.1 19-pin header. Motherboard: USB 3.0 Internal 19 Pin MB Male Housing Header. Front Panel: USB 3.1 A-Key 20 Pin Front Panel Female Header / NOTE: Does not convert from 5GB/s to 10GB/s. Easy way to access USB-C and support front panel header, doesn't require to have latest motherboard to experience USB-C technology. ** Note on USB current over limit issue: The power from the USB 3.0 header on the motherboard has a power rating at 4.5W (0.9A x 5V). However, many USB-C devices can withdraw power up to 100W (20A x 5V). This may result in a power shut down to protect the motherboard and its components.

Works great with my asus z490-v!

I bought this because my current case had a Type-C USB port that I wanted to use for a newly purchased VR headset. However, my Asus Z490-V motherboard only had a 3.2 Gen 1 connector, which is not compatible with a USB-C Type connector. It worked like a charm! No slowdowns or freezes when using a VR headset with the right Type-C cable!

This is the second E to USB 3 20 pin adapter I bought for my specific PC. I have an NZXT H1 case with an ASUSx570i motherboard. My motherboard has 1 USB 2.0 and 1 USB 3.0. I bought a special cable that splits the USB 3.0 port into 2 separate ports, one for this adapter and the other for the 3.0 port on my case. I was really having trouble recognizing the device, but somehow I was able to fix it. Maybe through a windows update or just plugged the phone into the computer multiple times untilโ€ฆ

Cable not seated properly in socket

USB cable plug not seated properly in adapter socket. It feels free and knocks out easily. I bent my toe on the first to improve its fit and had to buy a replacement. Too bad that there is currently the only completely black one. If you don't care, try another brand. *UPDATE* This adapter works well with some E-Type plugs, but not all. Specifically, there is a physical incompatibility between this E-type jack and the E-type plug on the front of the Define 7's body. Another adapter will workโ€ฆ

Does exactly what it's supposed to do but the price could be better

This little adapter is just what I need to connect the USB Type-C port on my NZXT H510 Elite case to my MSI X570 motherboard, it was missing a Type-C port but had two USB 3.0 ports. This particular connector is mated, which fits the rectangular connectors on my board, while the available 90 degree adapters wouldn't fit properly in my case. I plugged in a Type C SSD and it ran at the right speed with no issues and shows up in dmesg (Linux) as a super fast 2nd gen device. My only complaint is the

Great and won't let go.

I just got a new computer case that uses a new USB 3.1 connector on my motherboard that doesn't have these connectors. So I bought it along with a 20 pin USB 3.0 PCI-e card to solve this problem. Since it charges my device very well, very quickly, I didn't think twice about it until I tried to unplug it. After pulling on it for 10-15 minutes I gave up. Not because I didn't think I couldn't figure it out, but because I thought I'd break the 20-pin PCI-e 3.0 port. Can't say for sure if it's notโ€ฆ
