Maybe they could update the description to explain what the check valve is for. I didn't know and figured it would replace the broken one in my setup. Unfortunately, you'll need a check valve for situations where you don't have a valve that already shuts off the water flow (if you're using an onboard pump instead of city water). I don't want and don't want to get anything extra for it. Good product, just didn't meet my needs.
