These are awesome boots for kids so we already have the second set. The sizing seems pretty accurate, but of course it's a good idea to order at least one size up, if not two. We ended up ordering two sizes up from our last order to get a little more life out of them. Used for 8 months and used occasionally for a 7 year old boy. He has average sized feet and they fit well and maybe even snug or "perfect". Not everything dangles like a big boot. This makes him use/wear the boot more often. NO problems with hacking. We also use them as motorcycle boots as they are quite stiff and offer some protection.
