I use these scissors all the time as a quilter and hand applique. The blades have a small serrated edge that grabs fabric without pulling it out and helps with cutting shapes, thread and anything else used for hand applique. I now have three pairs in this size plus one pair each in the other two sizes. Karen Kay Buckley. I couldn't do without her. I also use this size for cutting, close to hand embroidery know-how. Absolutely, they are worth their money.

First, the serrated blades allow you to quickly and accurately trim seam allowances, small pieces for raw edge appliqué, etc. The blades grab the fabric so it doesn't fly away when you try to make smaller cuts etc. I will also buy bigger ones. With tools in particular, quality pays off. I had to swallow hard to pay that much for the little scissors, but I've heard from other quilters how great they are. I'm so glad I bought them!

These are the best details I've ever seen on an applique! And I read that you can even cut out paper templates fiddly! I love it so much I ordered a second one to have on hand! But don't think I'll be using it for paper as I've never seen such a small blade on the tip and I've used it a few times and it's still sharp! The other serves as a backup! For $ this is my best option on the market! I wouldn't trust bad reviews! love this kid!

I have rheumatoid arthritis and my old sewing scissors (cheap titanium) just didn't work for me anymore so I went on the hunt for the best sewing scissors. Package arrived quickly, well packaged and in good condition. The scissors are excellent. I've tried them on applique yarn, which can be a very wavy cut material. The scissors grip the fabric well, cut cleanly and easily, the fabric doesn't move in the blades. I recommend these scissors. I have other small scissors, a good pair of 4 inch Fiskars, but these buckleys are much thinner, more scissor-like in size and stick shape.
