Perfect for tea! I hate to use the term "perfect" but they are perfect for my purpose - a good glass of tea in the microwave! There were so many concerns when I chose this set of borosilicate teacups! I needed a fairly strong glass, which is unrealistic as all glasses are breakable for this purpose----and the point of whether it's lime glass, borosilicate glass, double walled or anything else! The difference is that borosilicate glass is shatterproof and less prone to fogging! I like the design

I bought this as an eco-friendly alternative to my constant paper filter purchases, thinking it would match my Hario V60 2 filter coffee mug. It fits and pours, but due to the thickness lids on Cone bottom that doesn't filter through, coffee drips to the side. If the ceramic mug is directly above the mug that needs to be poured, that's not too much of a problem, although you won't be able to see how much coffee you're pouring unless you have a see-through mug. Because it's double lined, water flows freely, air doesn't get trapped in the coffee grounds and the whole process of preparing that first important morning cup is delayed. My last stainless steel filter only had one layer and lasted forever. I would have had to press through the thickness with a spoon or use a paper filter which absorbed most of the flavor oils into the filter.
