Only the Kaytee cage fits Syrian hamsters! I bought this cage for my Syrian Hamster and she loves it! It has more than enough suitable space! The recommended area is 450 square feet, which is a lot more than 700 square feet! My Syrian doesn't even go through the cage room. A cage is highly recommended, but only for Syrian hamsters. Colors also make a cage beautiful. This is the best hamster cage in the Kaytee range. It's also very easy to clean!

It would have been a lot easier to assemble if the poles and plastic fasteners weren't so bent that they do match. Part of the rod was even broken on arrival... From other reviews I would not get the highest quality from Kaytee but I only do it for the size and price. Definitely not for small animals like hamsters, as they easily slip through the bars. Very "mega" purchase. When you place an order, you'll see for yourself what I'm talking about and you can decide if it's worth it or not.

Terrible quality! The base is the only good thing. We had to bend and twist the piece of wire to fit and stay in place. A bottle of water leaks. The wire already shows signs of wear.
