KegWorks 2Y CNRX T9FP Carboy Cleaner Review

This cleaner works very well. The cloth retaining nut is quite large but fits perfectly in our standard 3 gallon glass bottle.

Too big to fit down the neck of anything smaller than a 5 gallon bottle. I modified it to barely fit one of the pads and a smaller screw. Works well on the sides, less so on textured floors. I suspect I would have liked it on a smooth bottomed 5 gallon.

If the pads fit in the bottle then everything is working fine. It's a struggle to get pods in and out of the bottle, though. That almost makes him a deal breaker. I'm not sure why they don't reduce the width of the pad to make it easy to fit through the bottle's mouth.

With the addition of PBW cleaner my bottles are as clean as the day I bought them. Very happy with this product. It's a bit difficult to get in and out of the bottle at first, but I'm sure it will "break" with more use. Low speed works best until you get the hang of it. For your health!

I think if they narrowed the pads down about 1/8 inch I would rate it a 5. The fact that I have to put it through the neck of the bottle damaging the seals reduces to 3 for me as I have to change the seals more often. banal lagers I think I could also make a wooden block of banal lagers, or the manufacturer could sell a "universal" kit that has both lagers.

This product still feels like a DIY invention but I think it fits the needs of the home brewer well and while I love DIY projects I would rather buy it than trying to assemble it yourself. I've cleaned four bottles (5 and 6 gallon glass) and two 5 gallon kegs and the cleaner does a great job removing all residue. My only criticism is that the sluggishness of the vacuum's connection point can be annoying when trying to insert it into the bottleneck. It takes a lot of effort to push it in there…
