Great addition to a 6-person tent

As a result of my tests, I determined that this footprint is well-made and durable... It added an extra layer of protection to our tent, preventing any tears or abrasions from rocks or sticks on the ground. The footprint also made cleaning up much easier as we could just shake off the dirt without having to deal with the tents floor. The only con is that the footprint adds additional weight to the gear, but it's worth it for the added protection it provides..

Pros
  • Durable and waterproof material adds extra protection to the tent's floor.
Cons
  • Requires additional purchase and adds weight to gear.

Works well for tents and shelters

Corner clips fit over the raised bottom posts, work well and are easy to use. When pitching the tent, after raising the poles, turn the tent on its side, attach the groundsheet, and then pitch it back up. I'm torn about the lobby. If the earth cloth had an extension that could act as a floor for the vestibule (like LLBean tents) it would provide better protection from insects but would trap rainwater which could then drain under the tent. Like anything in a tent, it's a compromise. And you can…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not the best
