hard plastic; fits tight. Easy to remove/replace as there is a small protrusion sticking out.

I use both rubber and plastic. Both have their favorite situations. They are made of hard plastic and have a protruding edge. This makes them very easy to uninstall and reinstall in situations where you frequently connect/disconnect something. I was concerned that hard plastic wouldn't fit as snugly as rubber, especially on different devices with (probably) different tolerances. They are perfect for any device; they are tight but not tight. In some situations, the protrusions can catch on…

Aha, who needs these black things?. But when used correctly, they can distinguish a clean and working USB port from a decrepit one. I depend on the reliability of USB ports, and on more than one occasion a dirty port has caused me a lot of trouble. Never again. They are just as easy to connect as they are to disconnect. It actually sits firmly without falling out.

I've tried several alternatives (mostly silicone) and these were the only ones that didn't fall out in a light wind. They are easy to remove, but create additional "friction" afterwards. So when you pull on it, you might even pull on your device. I use them to close the upward facing connectors on all of my surge protectors.

Pay attention to other dust plugs: they are almost perfect.

It's simple and great. A snug fit with no compression and a very comfortable "grip" for fingers of any size. Honestly there is nothing more to say, they just work the way you want them to.

Perfect for keeping the USB clean in your car.

They do exactly what I wanted. They protect my USB ports in my work machine from dust. I need these ports to work for the short time I'll be using them and I was afraid that things might fall in due to the angle they were sitting. I had to find a way to protect her. They're perfect for this, and thanks to the little extension handle that hangs from them, they're easy to detach and slip into my cup holder when I need to use one.

Not sure how long this will take

These connector covers are made of hard plastic. And even though they're small, one part sticks out quite a bit. I'm sure it will soon either break or fall out or just annoy me. Looking back, I should have looked at the silicone version.

Some USB ports are more secure than others

Some USB ports are more secure to install than others. I really wish they would work with the USB charging ports on my Goal Zero Yeti 400. But this is an application where the plugs don't fit properly. As others have said, it's hard plastic. I think I'll order some silicone rubber USB cases and give it a try.

Nothing to say they do what they are supposed to do and don't look like cheap junk. The fit is snug but not annoying when plugging in and out, and the handle is a good length and feels firm.
