Effective - works well in the Arctic Circle (Tromsø, Norway) on speedboats during whale watching. Worn on a boat moving at fairly high speed (25+ mph) outdoors in sub-zero temperatures. A NOTICE. You will have some condensation under your mouth/nose but that will happen with any item in this price range.

Very warm, protects well against wind and reflects body heat. Wear it over your mouth and nose or tuck it under your chin like a turtleneck. My husband uses it on winter road trips in the auto industry and he swears that this alligator makes the difference between constantly cooling yourself and barely noticing the cold (in combination with a jacket, hat and gloves, of course). Never used an alligator. than this one, so there's no comparison, but this one works surprisingly well for us.

I bought these gaiters thinking they would cover my nose and neck. In the picture it looks like it can cover both with stick but that wasn't the case when I tried it on. When I pulled it over my nose, the bottom part lifted exposing the bottom of my neck. It is 9 5/8 inches tall but needs to be twice that size to do the job shown in the picture. The material is comfortable though and if you just need protection around the neck then this is worth considering.

I researched and bought a few of these this year as I work outside and needed to keep my neck warm without a large scarf. Out of the 4 I've tried, I'm not a fan of it at all. I don't like the finish on top and bottom, not very soft on the face and neck, a little scratchy, I couldn't wear it for long. It's also too big for me. Doesn't fit around my face and neck unless I wrap and tuck my back in. I prefer my TF fleece leggings.

This product keeps my neck warm in cold weather. It works so well that I start to sweat when I move around a lot or work hard. In that regard I would wish it was better at absorbing moisture I have found that it can be positioned in 3 different ways to achieve the desired thermal effect Neck as advertised Hood covering half the head/ears and a scarf that covers your nose and ears. Machine wash with liquid detergent in warm water has held up well so far.

Love these double fleece gaiters. I live in Wisconsin and the weather can be very cold here during the opening of the turkey hunt. These double fleece leggings keep me warm and toasty. Because after a while of hunting my breath was condensing outside of the liner and a single ply fleece neck seal or base polypropylene gaiter/face would get wet and cold on another brand's single ply neck seal face mask.
