I didn't buy this key as a spare but as a dummy key to give to valet when I park my car. The dummy key has the same hook as the original key, so I replace the working key with the dummy key before giving the fob to the valet. The glove box and trunk cannot be opened with the dummy key, and the valet can hang the key fob on the valet hook with the end of the dummy key. If the valet accidentally locks my key fob in the car or loses it altogether, I still have the original key to get into the car.
