We had a shelf break where a can with 10 vanilla beans and almost full vodka fell about 4 feet on the floor. The glass didn't spill a drop.

Leaks even when sealed tight. I'm trying to make vanilla extract and every time I shake it, vodka comes out! Tried to change the position of the seal, nothing helps. I'm so frustrated that I have to take everything out and put it in something that won't leak. Then . I have to wash it, wrap it up and return the money. What a problem.

For those of you looking for a replacement Kilner jar, this is IT. Nice solid bottle. If you use it for cooking oil, simply fold the lid to the side. If that bothers you, just cut the wires holding the cover in place. Thank you Mt Baker Mercantile for researching this for me and getting the answer I needed.
