This laptop tray is well designed, durable and lightweight. An assembly is not required. The compartment is big enough to fit my laptop and mouse in it. I am very happy with this table. I have five but there is a small problem. As you can see from the photos the laptop has to be on the right because I need the keyboard right in front of me. Otherwise I have to drag left to type (second image), which doesn't work for me. So I either use the trackpad or place the mouse on the armrest of the chair or on the bed next to me. Wanted something for bed as I can never find an ideal spot for my laptop. Some of them are infinitely adjustable, but it looks like they just make the finish less durable. It has 4 or 5 height settings and another 4 or 5 angle settings - enough for every situation I've tried (and you can always adjust your legs a bit if you need to adjust the settings. This is great because you can adjust the incline and height of the legs. The legs are stable on the bed and the up and down movement allows for adjustment and tilting.
