Buy a reusable one instead and plan ahead

I bought this for my trip to the Riviera Maya because I wanted to take some underwater pictures. They were half the price of the local pharmacy and I got free two day shipping so I thought it was a great buy. I used many as a teenager and thought they were a little better now. I followed the lighting instructions (I mean the sun shone all day!) and when I got 2 decent shots from 2 cameras (54 shot attempts) that was a lot. By "decent" I mean just 2 photos that were actually special. Everythingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for bumpy rides and rocky trails.
Cons
  • Skimpy manual

Choose Fuji for disposable cameras

On a recent dive I tried out several cameras including a disposable waterproof camera from Kodak and Fuji. Neither camera is equipped with a flash, meaning everything underwater is kept in shades of blue unless you bring your own light. The camera was leaked, giving them an edge over the more expensive 'professional' cameras on this trip. Both the Kodak and Fuji look very similar, thanks to a sealed plastic body (with some positive buoyancy) and thick rubber straps to attach to your wrist orโ€ฆ

Pros
  • No blurry images from sunscreen stains; Avoid sand and snow scratches that can ruin photos.
Cons
  • Quality

5/27 = 18% good for camera and photo

Disappointed with my shots. This camera doesn't have a flash, which I knew. But the box says as long as there is light, everything is fine. Not as much. We took this on our trip to Jamaica and the falls have plenty of shade. Despite the fact that there was a bright sun (such beautiful weather), all the photos came out very dark and impossible to see. In addition, splashes of water leave traces. The next day in the pool the shots were good but still very boring. All underwater photos are blueโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Comes with Kodak MAX Versatility Plus 800 film
Cons
  • Some bugs
