After our toilet was regularly leaking water from the tank into the bowl, we learned that the main seal was mostly destroyed. Fortunately, there was information about the details inside the tank. Unfortunately, we couldn't find the part of the valve assembly that we really needed, the gasket, so we ended up going with this kit. This part works well but it is counterfeit because the defective original part I had to replace is wrong in design. The top of the toilet tank meets the piece of plastic at the very top of the valve (where the fill hose is clipped to it) and allowing the piece of black plastic to separate from the top of the canister assembly. You can't just buy a broken piece of plastic. You have to buy the whole canister assembly - lots of parts you have to pay for but don't need. I figured it would be best…
