Kolpin 98020 Handy Throttle Review

Bought this product a few months ago, the first time the throttle broke off. Thinking it was a marriage I ordered a second one which broke after 5 minutes. This product is made of plastic and is too weak to press the throttle with your thumb and will break after minor use.

Before installing this throttle body, my thumb used to hurt a lot when using the stock throttle body on my ATV. I can drive all day without pain. The hardest part of installing this choke is removing the old glued handle. Once removed, this choke is easy to install.

No problems so far. I had to make some adjustments to make sure they didn't slip off. The product fits snugly to the body and can be easily removed after some exposure to the sun. I added a cotter pin to keep them in place. I drilled a small 1/8 hole in the handlebars, added a cotter pin and it holds perfectly.

Had to replace the steering wheel with a Polaris Outlaw 50 x 7/8 to install it. Helped teens with sore thumbs but the grip is very very thick, much thicker than 7/8 grips making it difficult for teens to grip all the reason quads originally had small diameter handlebars. It would be nice to have a thinner design.

I can't write about this product! This was suggested to me on my ATV owners FB pages and I'm so glad they suggested it! I have an injured thumb so using my thumb for more than 10 seconds caused too much pain. This product works in seconds (watch the video and use the air compressor) and works like a charm! It won't take long to get used to. It's so comfortable and I can't ride without it!

After rolling and chipping the throttle on 'my' quad and not wanting to pay the high price for a factory replacement part for the entire throttle assembly, I just bought one simple twist throttle kit and he earns in no time. My wife liked it so much that she wanted it too. Could not install on my 2019 Polaris Sportsman 570. I did not measure before ordering. My bars are .883", bars should be .875". I had to use the largest screwdriver to even come close to sliding the inner tube over the handlebars. I used a dremel tool to cut a bevel on the end of the inner tube to start it but it still doesn't work. Based on other reviews I doubted we would be happy with the Handy throttle. However, the two little drivers in the family didn't like driving with the thumb throttle at all because their thumbs couldn't reach it. So I thought it was worth the chance.
