Description of πŸ”’ Black Kolpin Lock It Rite Trailer System - LGD-TRL-16

Guard Dog Trailer ATV Tie-Down secures your ATV to your trailer for safe transport. It secures your ATV quickly, eliminating the need for straps alone while preventing forward, backward, and side movement. When not in use, simply remove the upright arm, leaving only the base plate attached to the floor of your trailer – now your trailer will not be restricted from other uses. This product will also work with UTVs that fit into your trailer. Comes with bolts for steel or wooden trailers.

I like the idea

I like the idea of using this on a motorcycle trailer that I converted to a flat trailer for my ATV. After installing pads on the end of the trailer, there wasn't enough room to use them, I returned them. The seller even made the return easy and quick to get the funds back on my card. I award 5 stars!

What a great product

What a great product this is! You no longer have to worry about stopping to check straps and brackets, this keeps the quad securely in place and DOES NOT MOVE. A good rule of thumb is to lubricate the main rod that the clutch lock slides on, after 200 miles of tow and bounce it was locked in pretty tight but a bit of lube fixed the problem on the way home. A great addition for anyone towing an ATV and wanting to stop fumbling with cords.

Secure Lockout

This locking system does what it promises. No need for straps, this hitch will keep your quad from moving up and down and side to side. It also allows for security by adding a lock to the hitch if required. Installation took about 30 minutes. All hardware was included and the hitch is very solid with a welded base plate. The screws that came with it weren't the right length for my trailer, but they're a cheap replacement. Both thumbs up for Kolpin!

  • Good product for the price

Cheap welding. Not strong enough to hold a small ATV

Very disappointed with this unit. It wasn't cheap. It took a reasonable amount of time to install. In hindsight, I have to admit that the multiple welds holding the unit to the baseplate weren't enough to keep the quad at one point of contact (although I did actually use the straps on the front as well and used them as the welds burst ). I managed to use it maybe 5-6 times before the welds broke. My quad is a Honda Recon, which is about as small as adult quads go. See photo.

Really works! for accessories

I often have to haul a heavy UTV over rugged desert mountain trails to get to a place to safely park my truck and trailer. Fastened with quality straps, it pops like a cork in a storm. The trailer dog nails it to the trailer so tight you can't see the movement. It is easy to install and connect to the UTV. There are many ways to do this. I use traction on the front of the UTV as I can see when approaching the dog. I've never been out of order. Then I just pull the UTV until the ball is under…

Great idea, best for bikes and weightlifting

I bought one of these for my wife's Can Am Limited which we tow in a 12ft enclosed cargo trailer behind a Ford SportsMobile 4X4 van, and found it to be a very worthwhile investment. I used to have to stop and reattach the two tie-down straps to the back of the quad a lot on the bumpy, rutted dirt roads we frequently travel on. Some of these roads required an articulated hitch for our trailer to accommodate the severity of that trail or road. Since installing Trailer Dog I have never had to stop

Very strong, best binding

The device holds my 1500lb Honda Pioneer 700 perfectly in place without fear of breaking it. I've driven my buggy over 500 miles and it has stayed in place on smooth and bumpy roads. HOWEVER, the steel bolts have rounded corners and the bushing cannot turn them properly. I replaced them with sharp-edged bolts so my head could grab and flip them without risking cutting off the rounded edges and rendering them useless. I think this is a serious oversight on the part of the company. ALSO shown is…

NOT FOR UTV!: Accessory

I was looking for a quicker and more efficient mounting system for my two-seat Teryx (about 1500 pounds) than using straps. In my search, I came across a Kolpin worker dog. He had great reviews. I did some research and even checked the Kolpin website to confirm I can use this on a UTV. Here's a copy and paste from their website * Faster and stronger than straps alone * Secures your ATV or UTV to your trailer for safe transport * Prevents forward, backward, and side-to-side movement WRONG! I…
