Works well. best serial adapter

Multiple BIOS chips programmed. I was having trouble with the clip, so I bought a Pomona clip (CPT-063 Test Clip SOIC8 Pomona 5250) and was able to program a few ICs. While waiting for Pomona I desoldered the chip and used a spring loaded device and it worked great.

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • Available in white only

Works but you need to modify the CH341 board IC to get power from the 3.3V regulator or it might damage the programmable IC. Look for "ch341a Programmer 3.3v fix" which is a common problem in earlier versions. The reason for this is that the chip is connected directly to the 5V USB input and not to the 3.3V regulator.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • weak

Works as advertised.

I purchased this item to unlock the BIOS on the Razer Blade 15 2020 Base to install macOS but after reading reviews from others I was unsure of the voltage supplied was appropriate. I'm writing this review to let you know that reading/flashing worked for me right away and on the first try with this programmer. I haven't used a multimeter to check the actual voltage and would assume it's YMMV, but I'm happy not to be able to report any issues with my Razer.

Pros
  • Free for Educational Purposes
Cons
  • Unsure
