Good flash drive with USB and USB-C interfaces, an oddity

I needed a flash drive big enough to hold a full Linux distribution plus working files, and that would have USB and USB-C interfaces so I could "live boot" any of my PCs, regardless of their USB ports. It fit the bill perfectly: I installed Ubuntu on it and it became my default recovery disk. But there was one strange quality. A short key fob was supplied with the drive and there is a small cut-out on one end of the case which is clearly intended for attaching the key fob. However, as you can…

Works perfectly! High writing speed!

I really like this flash drive, it has a nice sleek look. It works as a plug and play drive with my windows computer, the large storage space allows for transferring or transferring some data in good size. I was happy with the speed of writing to the drive. It helped me a lot to move some large files from one computer to another in time. Very happy with this plug and play drive.

Pros
  • Excellent overall specs
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

I love the USB/USB-c connectors

I just got this flash drive for my friend's 14 year old daughter when she was just starting high school. I really like the switch that pushes out either the USB connector on one side or the USB-C connector on the other side. It's fast, durable, and has plenty of storage space so she can back up her data and take it with her from class to class. As with any computing device you never know how long it will last, break or become obsolete so I will update it over time.

High-Performance Flash Drive with USB 3 and USB-C connectivity

The Kootion 125GB Flash Drive is a great flash drive that can be connected to either USB 3 or USB-C. The flash drive is quite compact. There is a central button that controls which port (USB 3 or USB C) is expanded. Both plugs are removed in the middle. If you move it to the side, the USB 3.0 port pops out; When I click another, a USB-C port is available. The drive connects easily to my PC, iMac, and Chromebook laptop. The transfer rate was fast but appeared to be at USB 3.0 speeds but didn't…

Good Value, Fast Transfer Speed, Ease of Use

Pretty much everything you want in a flash drive, fast, good size for the price, works right out of the box so no weird ones Problems with customization, well made and versatile. This drive should work on almost any device with a USB port. Although it cannot connect to a legacy USB-A device without a converter. There's a latch that keeps it in place when it's closed or either end is pulled out. The only usability issue is that the keychain ring blocks the USB-C port. Ignoring the keychain…

Fast, but USB-A/C costs

Tests with the CDM show that this is a fast flash drive. See photos • In terms of speed, as usual, it works best with large files. The 4K random write speed was pretty terrible, something I've never seen before. Maybe my pc? I tested on two USB 3.0 PCs. But technology overshadows my computers. Eh • The ability to use USB-A or -C is interesting - first seen on a flash drive. I'm not sure about the -C caveats, which is required ("OTG function"). I haven't tested it with -C port. • As always, I…

Incredibly versatile with terrible caching

It was so close to a perfect 5 stars. Being able to use A or C is very helpful to me as I've tried to migrate to USBC wherever I could although my school hasn't even thought about it. When you transport or use it, no side sticks out, so I'm not worried about the quality in that regard. The kit comes with a weird keychain that seems to get in the way, but I don't plan on using it anyway. The read speed is exactly what you would expect from a 3.0 drive. What about write speed? Something fishy is…
