Doesn't fit flute

My daughter had to buy this for the Honor High School Band. She plays the flute and while this tuner works with many instruments, it is not suitable for flute. Also the 2nd year broke.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Pretty cool contact mic.

Actually intended for tuners, but on a horn for smart music the program picks up the tones quite well. It took some time to figure out where to put it for better note recognition.

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • Upgradable

Overall good but a bit noisy.

I chose this lapel mic over the much cheaper piezo disc contact mics because I wanted to save money by reusing them. Korg is also a trusted brand. In practice, this microphone is quite loud. Compared to real microphones, which can be absolutely silent when working over the same audio interface, this clip's signal-to-noise ratio is pretty bad.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Doubtful

Korg CM200BK Lapel Microphone Black

Product Overview: In three words, "It works well." My Korg OT-12 studio tuner and Korg CA40 chromatic tuner that I carry in my gig bag. It appears to be more durable than the Korg mic clip released a few years ago, although the earlier version still works.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Angry

Fits on the flute head and works great.

Seems to work well; approaches the flute and emits a steady signal. I see a lot of people saying they don't think a cable will last long if it's wrapped around a microphone for storage. The instructions specifically state that you should NOT do this. Instead, I used a piece of Velcro that I cut to size - simply attached to the cable and wrapped around it; no load on the cable. VELCRO Brand - ONE WRAP Slim Ties, 8 x 1/2", Pack of 100, Black

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Poor

This clip is way too long.

It works but you have to be careful to keep it in place when you clip it onto the guitar head. One side of the clip is made of very soft rubber and flexes slightly, preventing contact with the piezo microphone. The old design used hard rubber and was quite pinched and it worked. The current design is too bulky and most of my guitar and ukulele players can't attach it properly. On the plus side, the wires are thicker and stronger than the old design.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • It makes me nervous
