Fine glitter for yarn and floss

Blended yarn is great for adding a little sparkle when working with yarn. I am currently using it to subtly enhance motifs on a knitted Christmas stocking.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Makes me angry

Sparkles to sew

I had to have this because it was part of my angel cross stitch pattern that I received. I need to shorten the rope because it can get damaged, tangled, or snap if I pull it too fast.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Great for adding that extra sparkle to projects.

Pulled out a cross stitch project I haven't worked on in almost 20 years due to quarantine. I needed more string of beads because what I had left was wrinkled and tangled. I found this and it is exactly the same as what was in my kit. He's sensitive, of course, but I'm used to working with him. Just be careful and work with shorter lengths. Maybe 10 inches or so and it will be fine.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for support and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other collections

Looks great in the finished product

Embroiderers know that metallic thread is really difficult to work with. Kreinik Blending Filament is a great way to add sparkle to your project, but it's no different than other metallic filaments. It snags and knots easily and it is delicate/breaks easily. Do a little Google research before using it for the first time to make things easier for yourself. Definitely recommend.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • old
