Just for clarification. This works on a 1997 Harley Davidson Heritage Springer FLSTS. I had to remove the left exhaust because of the crossover. After that it started without incident.

Easy install (as long as you don't have center engine vents). I tried rotating and tilting the part for about 5 minutes but it didn't lock into place until I removed the windshield. The instructions indicate the correct tightening torque for the supplied screws.

Problem. The bolts that attach to the L-brackets were coated with too much grease which didn't allow the bolt to seat well so it was sticking out. In the end the screw broke trying to install it properly. I even tried removing the lock but couldn't. But thanks for amzn. Return policy, received my full refund.

FYI: PICTURE ABOVE IS NOT MY BIKE. I'd prefer the front stud to be a stud that I can dress up, but that would be fine. The instructions say to remove 2 screws and install 1 leg, install the new included screw on the leg screw and reuse the existing main body screw. However, there are THREE screws to work with. irrelevant. Makeable. In general it looks good.

Works great. Installing a screw was tricky - it didn't go through the cover and into the internal primary threads. It remains to unscrew one of the screws so that the cover can be bent. The end caps are a nice touch, but they were only enough for the cover. Looked weird with 4 head bolts, not the rest of my primary bolts. I just bought a set of chrome screws and left them open for a more uniform look.

Yes, the cover is easy to fit and adds a touch of class to the unit. However, if your bike has heat shields in the middle of the frame, be prepared to remove the bottom bracket as well. This aspect was not thought through in the installation instructions. I was apprehensive about removing it until I realized that my model had the rear nut welded to the frame, so no big deal. I've always used a torque wrench for assembly. Kuryakin would not guarantee this. While warranties are meant to limit liability, Kuryakin needs to better protect its products. When I first put this cover on my 2001 HD dresser I would have given it 5 stars but noticed a slight crease in the cover where the back of the cover was flush and the front was raised 1 /4" 4" on one end. Sliding the front open when attaching the last screw wasn't a big deal.
