well I've never had a thermos mug. This really keeps you warm for a long time. The top is also efficiently and completely sealed with a vacuum sealing mechanism. I usually drank my first cup of coffee, poured my second into a cup, tossed it in my bag (taking total risk or splashing it all around) and then hit the gym.
