Excellent low profile antenna

I was tired of my 5/8 antenna hitting branches over 5/8 shafts so I decided to purchase a Phantom Elite for GMRS to buy. I see no performance loss from using these and longer antennas. Anyway, this is a very quiet antenna. The reception is very clear. And now I don't have to worry about parking anymore. Highly recommended for GMRS.

Pros
  • Shaft Length (in): 3.4 in
Cons
  • Contact Seller

Excellent antenna for antennas

I really like this antenna. I have replaced the roof mounted 5/8 wave whip with no noticeable performance degradation. It's barely visible on the roof of my truck and no longer whistles at high speeds. I definitely recommend this antenna.

Pros
  • radio antennas
Cons
  • slightly torn

Great low profile antenna

I was fed up with my 5/8 x 5/8 antenna hitting tree branches so I decided to buy a Phantom Elite for GMRS. I see no performance loss from using these and longer antennas. Anyway, this is a very quiet antenna. The reception is very clear. And now I don't have to worry about parking anymore. Highly recommended for GMRS.

Pros
  • AV accessories
Cons
  • Small parts

BAD DESIGN. for radio antennas

I hoped it would work. The instructions state that excessive torque is required to make contact between the gasket and the roof surface. TOO much torque. This will unscrew your mount from the roof, and I have Laird's mount. You should just add another 1/16 inch to the collar and avoid this problem. None of my other Laird antennas have this problem. BAD DESIGN.

Pros
  • antennas
Cons
  • very expensive
