Works great. A severe fire ensued with complete sooting of the housing and soot on the wick. Cleaned the fuse with this product and was able to slowly burn the soot off the jacket. Both saved.

This wick shaper doesn't rotate well on my lamp; It's too tight. While the shape of the wick is important for the uniform light of incandescent bulbs, I have a very difficult time getting a uniform shape with it. The old plastic former I lost was much better and didn't require the inner channel to be removed.

Of all the Aladdin wick cleaners I've had, this is by far the best. He also holds the wick while sitting in the air nozzle in the center of the wick. You can then set the wick to the lowest setting, press the purifier to the bottom, and then slowly raise the wick by twisting the purifier back and forth until the wick touches the purifier.
