Awesome for early learning

This cards are great for early math, there are lots of options of the order the cards can go in. Also duplicates of first numbers so that you can use them in more than one place at a time. We use this for our co op preschool and it is great and very engaging for the kids.

Pros
  • love it! Nice learning kit.
Cons
  • The flashcards only focus on numbers up to 20, which may not be enough for more advanced learners

Smethport Early Math Card Set

I got these for my son's homeschooling and I couldn't be more pleased with these little cards. They come scored in 2-3 rows of 7 cards, but you don't even have to take them apart since they are scored so perfectly. This are VERY sturdy, thick and have a very nice laminate surface. It's nice that you can store them in the same box they come in, but I personally think the box could've been smaller to provide more storage possibilities, but this box still fits nicely in my plastic drawer cart…

Pros
  • Helps in learning english as well as math
Cons
  • The packaging is not sturdy or durable, making it prone to damage during use.

Not put together well

I feel a better job of putting the material together could have been done. We were working counting 1 through 10 with the apple trees and the one with 10 apples is on the back of the 1. Why not put the apples and buttons on the same cards. The same way the stars and balloons and the train and pencil are done. I also feel 29 =, + >, <, - is an over kill would of much rather seen other items. I would not buy this item again.

Pros
  • Durable quality
Cons
  • The illustrations on the cards may not be visually appealing or engaging for some learners.

Great For Hands-On Learning!

I have several sets of pocket chart cards from Smethport and these live up to the same quality of the others! These are must have cards for teaching early math skills to your preschooler or Kindergartener. The cards will help with number recognition (1-20), ordinals, individual counting, set counting, size and shape recognition, colors, measurement and position, plus and minus equations, greater than and less than, and even simple fractions. I like that the cards are thick with a laminate…

Pros
  • great item to use with the pocket chart. My 3 year old is learning super fast and we love these
Cons
  • The product's design may not be engaging or exciting enough to hold a child's attention.

They look nice with stars

I didn't buy a wall pocket chart so it may be time consuming to organize cards to use. They look nice with stars, balloons, apple trees and buttons to add and subtract.

Pros
  • My children and I love the products very much. Thanks seller for the packaging. Very nice. Thanks.
Cons
  • The product may not be challenging enough for advanced learners or those who have already mastered basic math skills.

Nice learning cards

I bought this to go with the pocket chart and it is great to see the kids enjoying making their own things. My almost 5 yr old would match the fraction number with the diagram, grouping shapes and colors and numbers in different piles when cleaning up, etc.The great thing about this is that it allows you to do many things with different age group. You can also do counting using numbers and diagrams together (number recognition for preschool), you can do shapes with their names for easy reading,

Pros
  • My daughter likes working with these. I got them to use with our table top chart.
Cons
  • The flashcards are not customizable, limiting their use for specific learning needs.

Good Learning tool: my feedback

I have a 4yr old little boy that LOVES preschool, so I set up a little preschool in his room. Every morning before school he looks out his window to see the weather and makes sure his weather chart is set for the day. Each night I have a math problem for him to solve before bed. He loves it.

Pros
  • Fun game.
Cons
  • The small size of the cards may be difficult for some children to handle and read.

My granddaughter, with an aspiration of becoming a teacher, loved these teaching aids to try on her sister and her friends!

Just a Bunch of Stuff

Where do I start? The 6 and the 9 look exactly alike, which might be problem for a 4 year old learning to recognize numbers. Information on both sides are confusing to organize; Just too much mathematical concepts in one product and using two sides was not a good way to put it together as far as I am concerned.

Pros
  • I think my kiddos will enjoy it.
Cons
  • The product lacks audio or interactive components, limiting its appeal for some learners.

Perfect product! - my new review

Love this product. I'm not a teacher, but it made me feel like one as my kids showed their excitement as we made equations and did math right in the living room. Very nicely priced and well worth the money. I would recommend to ALL loving parents with kids eager or not so eager to learn.

Pros
  • awesome product, can be used many ways, cards nice and big, colorful and stiff, not flimsy.
Cons
  • The cards do not come with any storage solution, making them difficult to organize and keep together.
