These comforters are SUPER soft, bright colors and slightly shimmering fabrics. I would say they are medium or light but still pretty fluffy. I bought this for my dog and he had to share it with our cat who loves him. In my opinion the sherpa side is better than the giraffe side. The patterned side fur is long and shiny, almost slippery to the touch, synthetic, soft and quite fine. I prefer the shorter and denser faux fur fleece.
