Excellent hold, leaves no "sticky " feeling

This is actually a wonderful CREAM. I've used other products for years and they often felt sticky and sticky on my hands and didn't always get the effect I wanted. My hairstylist threw this to me a few months ago and I bought some to try and I love it. Can't recommend enough.

It's just a smell

I really like the function of this product. Come in easily. Holds hair well. It has a perfect matte finish that doesn't leave the hair looking chalky. Would love to make this my everyday hair product. But. I just can't get past this smell. It smells a bit like the candles my grandmother would put in her house. Well, it's not a bad smell, but it's just not something I want to smell all day. If it were in a different version of the fragrance I would easily give it a 5/5, recommend it to everyone…

Smells like vanilla candles

The hold is not as strong as expected. Very easy to use, not sticky at all. A subtle sensation when you rub it between your fingers. Smells like strong vanilla. Zuess mattifying cream suits me better.

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Extendable

Best product for my hair

If you are unfamiliar with Layrite Mattifying Cream, do yourself a favor and give it a try. This is the perfect trial size and is best for travel as it matches TSA sizing. The scent is stunning and creates a somewhat natural hold. Doesn't shine at all. Experiment with varying the "wetness" of your hair as this will create a different hold. Try a few different methods until you find your desired combination of wet hair and amount of cream. I will say that a little helps and if you use too much…

Great product although not very natural

Love everything about this product except all the chemicals used. It's also possible that as it dries, it becomes "crunchy" rather than smooth and pliable. It just adds a little shine. Absolutely non-greasy. Wash hair and hands with water. Smells incredible. Having something similar, more natural, would be nice, but probably hard to articulate. This product contains parabens and other weird sounding chemicals which is a shame.

My new favorite Best in Hair Care

As a long-time Suavecito collector, I know that this material has to meet many requirements. I decided to try it because my hair was getting long and I needed a pomade that could penetrate my hair easily to minimize breakage at the hairline, give me a light to medium hold that lasted all day, and it without losing control of my super wavy hair. Layrite does all of these things. I'm really satisfied! The scent could be a little stronger, but I still love the vanilla scent.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made

Suppressing excess buildup and vanilla smell

As for the water-based hair product, I was hoping for something light and non-staining. Unfortunately, Layrite's natural cream didn't work for me. I only wash my hair 2-3 times a week to avoid damaging my hair, but the Layrite cream doesn't wash off with water alone, and in fact it takes multiple shampoos to wash it off completely. It wouldn't be so bad if the smell was bearable, but this thing smells awful. Like an old French vanilla candle from Grandma's house. If you like smelling potpourri…

Great unisex hair product!

We love this product. Great for couples to use and share. It smoothes and holds frizzy and frizzy hair in place and adds texture to men's hair. We envision it as a gel lipstick and hairspray in one bottle - if you don't mind using your hands and fingers to style! Highly recommended for all hair types that need to be left in place and styled!

  • Comfortable

Slight sheen, good staying power, pleasant smell

Pleasantly mild and clean scent. The cream leaves a soft (not crunchy) fixation for all day with a slight shine. Washable with normal shampoo. I've used almost every major line of products on Amazon under $20 a can and this is one of my favorites. I also keep Crew Forming Cream handy.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
