These colorful homes with families are as described. Each had a father, mother, brother, sister, child and dog except for one colored house which had a father, mother, grandmother, sister, child and dog. It would be nice if some had dogs and some cats. My preschoolers loved them and I appreciated that they all got up on their own and didn't fall over.

I bought this for my 4 year old who has counting and memory issues. I was able to identify with this set by asking questions that they can't count, in the order 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc., but when I write down a person, they say 1, and when I add one, they say 1 one more person, she says 2 etc. So she did simple math which is good news. She then continued playing with him for 20 minutes and started families in different ways. Very glad I got this set with houses and not just families.
