Thought they would be good for my quilting. They do it for a while then the metal slips and I think they're useless

This item is cheaper and thinner than the Clover leather thimble. The seams are more strongly stitched and seem to fall apart after too long. However, this is a leather thimble and it works. I soaked mine in water to shrink it onto my finger and it works great.

I started cross stitching again after a long break and needed a leather thimble. Metal/silicone etc. are not malleable. It's great to start sewing again. I should have gone a smaller size (I'm on medication) but I suspect I can wet it and it will fit better. I like the metal insert on it as it can go through other fabrics if needed and the price is right.

I've been using this type of "thimble" for many years, but 4-5 times more expensive. The skin is much thinner, but the metal coin in the same area of the fingertip is pretty much the same. I did notice that the stitching came undone while sewing, but that would be a quick fix. They suit everyone. I have medium sized fingers which is fine but if you have small fingers they might be too big. The leather is thin enough to sew a tighter seam if you're creative enough.
