Emergency blankets, ideal for emergencies

Bought and given away to friends. Turns out I needed it. 4-5 hours at 23 degrees with no heat - wrapped up and cold was bearable and no damage to fingers or toes. Bought another pack.

Bigger than most mylar blankets

Price was great we give them to the homeless in our area. Because they're a few inches longer and wider than other Mylar blankets, they offer a little more coverage.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Nothing here

Very comfortable and durable

Used as a replacement for a waterproof jacket at a music festival. Totally waterproof, kept me and my wife warm (we each had one). Big enough for me, 6'2. Extremely lightweight and portable. Durable enough under normal conditions, mine ripped but took a lot with it but still lasted 3 hours on very heavy use.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Slightly torn when opened

Bought these mainly to cover the UFO for Halloween and gave the rest to my husband for our emergency bags. The edges stuck together and when I tried to unfold it the edges tore a little. They are a little flimsy so I recommend being careful when unfolding them. I'm sure they will work great in an emergency. Although my UFO looks amazing.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • The list is long.

They really work!

This thin sheet is very good at keeping your body warm. My cats have mats with this stuff in them and they're searching for it like heat-seeking missiles. Our gas heater isn't working right now and it's getting damn cold in here. The heaters won't work until we replace the old heater. To watch TV, I put one of those sheets under a light blanket that was barely warm without it, and within 15 minutes my toes were burned. I used it when I went to bed under the covers, and again warm toys.

Pros
  • Camping and Hiking
Cons
  • No performance

What a great item

These rescue blankets appear to be as durable as anything I've ever seen and come in their own small protective packaging of 10 - ideal for stowing in a glove box or backpack. They are longer than usual which is why I bought them. I mainly use them as lining for the insulating curtains I make. I've found them to go a long way as an inner layer in both hot and cold weather. I use a very long stitch and am careful with them and they don't seem to tear. If it was only 5 I would still think it's aโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Rescue Blankets
Cons
  • Quick Start Guide

They do very, very little to keep warm.

I installed it as a reflective wall in an unheated guest house. I thought they effectively reinforce the work of the oil heater and return heat to the occupants of the small cabin. However, there was no heat improvement with them even though we lined the entire wall with them and placed the heater within 1 meter of the wall. As other reviewers have reported, the material is very thin and brittle, and noisy/crunching. It's best used, at least as stationery, I think. I wouldn't want to rely onโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Safety and Survival
