Description of 3-Legged Thing Lever Clamp Enhancer

Lever mechanism for fast clamp and release of quick release plate or L-bracket. Lever features switch to prevent accidental unlock. Can be attached to any device with a 3/8”-16 thread. Adjustable for left or right handed use. Features security hollows for compatibility with Arca Swiss plates with security pins.

Requires constant tuning

Looks high quality and functional. My problem is that when changing nozzles, the tension of the lever needs to be adjusted. So I have a ball head with a 3LT base plate, Wimberly camera plates and RRS lens base plates. When this is supposed to be the basis of a quick release arm but requires manual adjustment of arm tension when changing attached hardware - very, very annoying! and of course it won't change any time soon. Back to the base controlled by Knob; easier, safer and faster device…

Great replacement for my not-so-fast removable plate

I love that this clip has a safety catch so you know it's locked. You'd have to be a complete idiot not to understand whether you attached the camera with this clamp or not. This is easily adjustable if you need to find the tight setting. One piece of advice (especially for some geniuses who wrote bad reviews): if you don't have the same brand of baseplates/L-brackets on all your devices, you probably want to refrain from buying ANY quick release toggle clamp. Well made and functional

Many of these clamps have been redesigned for use with the old Velbon tripod. Generally, these things range from $20 to over $200. The best mid-range models seem to cost between $50 and $80. This 3 Legged Thing (3LT) unit, made in England, costs $80 and I was lucky enough to get it at my local B&M Photoshop for $60.
