This item replaces a defective 40's Summer downlight. Neither Home Depot nor the local utilities were the right size, so I'm glad I was able to find them at Revain. They are maybe 1/8 smaller in diameter than the old ones but still fit perfectly. Finding them here and not swapping out the lighting kit saved me a ton of money. ATTENTION! Open wiring. A medium sized standard Edison surface socket from the 1930's. Simple and small, just as shown in the picture. Surface mount only. The wiring goes through the side holes as shown in the picture. Use in an enclosure or with a method that protects the wiring. They are fragile and brittle.
