Keeps liquid warm for hours.

We love carafe, but two decanters are broken. We are not sure why this happened. While the water was being heated, the carafe in the kettle burst. We still like the result of keeping the tea warm for more than 3-6 hours. I just wish we could solve the exploding and breaking glass problem.

Pros
  • Serving ware
Cons
  • Electrical outlet required

Works with Columbus 2840X Series Coffee Makers

I have an old Columbus 2840X Series 1 liter carafe that looks something like this: Leifheit 28405 Coffee Carafe, Columbus, 1-Quart and I wasn't mine sure if this would fit paste or if there is one. It could be a little different with the newer decanters of the Columbus 283XX (Columbus 2000) series, which look like this 1 liter decanter Leifheit Columbus 28300 insulating carafe, white/black. I'm happy to report that this loose leaf works flawlessly and I'm now back to brewing lots of greatโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Drinkware
Cons
  • Small Parts

Good alternative to buying a new jug

I have owned a 1 liter carafe Leifheit Leifheit 1 liter carafe Columbus 2000 insulating carafe, light blue/dark blue in blue for several years. It does an excellent job of keeping the water warm for up to 20 hours. But somehow the insert broke after the flood last year, so I was torn between buying an insert for the still good plastic outer carafe or buying a new carafe. Over the years the hard water in my area has left some buildup on the rim of the carafe, and a full carafe costs about $10โ€ฆ

Pros
  • kitchen & dining room
Cons
  • usurious price
