Macbook Pro can't restart with this dongle plugged in

When I leave it plugged into my 2017 Macbook Pro on restart, my Mac boots into recovery mode and claims it's continuing to use it My Mac needs to install an important security update. If I remove the key and force a restart, everything works fine again. Also, I noticed that my connected USB keyboard stopped registering random keystrokes after upgrading to Catalina.

works on my MacMini

This USB-C hub is amazing. At the time of writing this review, I've been using it on my 2020 MacMini for over 9 months. I'm at my Mac every day. I get the most out of USB-C on all my peripherals. I like using a standing tooth, but it can't be beat for speed or hard wiring. I am very impressed with the connectivity and power reliability of this hub. I have a keyboard, mouse, camera, microphone and headset base. Long enough to place the hub in an inconspicuous spot under my desk and run cables…

So far so good

4 months of daily use, worked quite well. I plug in a USB mouse dongle, backup drive, webcam and HDMI monitor and everything works fine except for the USB mouse which often stutters. This doesn't happen when I plug the mouse dongle into my laptop's USB port. The long cable gives me more flexibility in choosing the hub's location, which is a major reason for the purchase. However, I've found that you can plug a USB cable extender into any of the short cable hubs and probably get even more…

The perfect adapter for a clean installation!

High quality adapter and works great. The long cable really sets it apart from other adapters. This means you can hide the adapter out of sight (I attached it to the underside of the table with other cables). This allows for a clean setup with only one visible cable. The color scheme also matches the space gray of my MacBook Pro. Update: This adapter fried my new MacBook Pro 2019.
