Description of 🚪 Leviton Vented Premium Hinged Structured Media Door - 28-Inch, White (47605-28S)

Cutout pattern in bottom accommodates the same AC power modules and DC power supplies as the 21-Inch and 42-Inch enclosures. Mounting slots on the enclosure simplify adjustment for different sheetrock depths. Sheetrock depth marks (1/2", 5/8", 3/4") on the enclosure simplify alignment. Lance slots provide clean cable management within the enclosure. Self-healing foam grommets protect cable bundles and prevents dust from entering the enclosure.

Perfect fit but expensive

We received our door and it matches our wall paneling perfectly. The door is MUCH heavier than I thought it would be (slightly heavier than the empty plate we already had on it). The price is high for something so simple, but it was very high quality and worked perfectly without requiring any adjustments. Here you get what you pay for, a quality part that fits and works with no problems.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Useless features

Piece S**T on wall panels

Leviton really screwed it up. The screws that came with it don't fit the holes and I damaged the SMC case and door trying to install it. You might think it's easy, but if the screws don't fit exactly, this makes this a two-hour job. When trying to turn the screw, the door slipped and bent the stay and body. Now instead of a beautiful case (which I paid a lot of money for) I have a piece of crap. I will not buy Leviton again.

  • All right!

easy assembly fits wall plates

Meets all requirements. A structured media center was installed in a cupboard with many items around radio frequencies and cameras. A swing door with vents works very well. I even installed a small volt meter in the door to monitor the 12V 6A power supply inside that powers most of the elements. Even with a Dremel tool and a metal cutting disc, it took me 45 minutes to cut a 1 1/2" x 3" hole for a meter. This is serious steel! Very well made, easy to put on and looks great in my closet.

Looks good, expensive, difficult to install

Pros: It's made of high quality steel and the vents help keep my gear cool. After installation it looks good. Cons: It's expensive for what you get. The lock is not included. Two of the holes (middle) used to attach the lid to the Leviton case are not drilled and the screws provided are not self-tapping. There were only 8 identical mounting screws in the package. I solved the problem by tapping the holes with a #8-32 tap, but that's not necessary!

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Door needs repairing

Great solution for companion panels. Looks good too. My criticism of the lid is that the keyholes for the screws are opposite each other, so you can't just put two screws in at the same time and mount the door. Unlike anything I've ever mounted. Second, the hinge side overlies the panel and wall. If you installed the panel flush, you will need to push it out a little from the side of the latch (not flush) for the latch to work. Other than that, these downsides didn't matter much and the setup…

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • not trendy

Good, with some weaknesses.

Beautiful box. Ease of installation. [But get a professional to help when you hook up the power.] It's a little expensive, but most Leviton stuff is expensive. Good quality. By the way, this is a metal box. So if you are installing a WiFi box, think about it. The biggest downside is that when you use Leviton parts [like switches and shock sets] you use their little clips [push lock pins] to hold them. And they're not cheap in price, but they break easily, so use extra tools. . I have used molly

Pros
  • Excellent price
Cons
  • Periodicity

Works as it should. Not much for the price.

Works as expected. It was only $37 when I bought it a year ago and I found it expensive. It's just a lid and a loop on one side. I've seen a similar lid (or an older model) that has a full size hinge that attaches to all four corners of the box. This cover does not have a full height hinge mount, it simply attaches to one side of the panel with 3 screws. It is reversible and the plastic logo plate (not shown in the pictures) can be mounted either way. The logo is either at the top for…

  • Excellent overall performance

  • Basically OK, but...
