The time has come when feeder protection devices against arc flash have come.

It's time to make branch circuit arc protection devices available. I hope they are more reliable than the early AFCI breakers which had a short lifespan and caused too many "nuisance trips". These AFCI sockets are also overpriced. UPDATE: 01/2021. Multiple AFCI/GFCI sockets and GFCI/AFCI switches installed. I can report good reliability (80%) and satisfactory performance. Well if you get what you ordered.

The product seems to be acceptable if you get what you ordered. Be wary of Revain Warehouse offers. Had to return 5 out of 12 scattered across multiple orders; a mix of 20 and 15 amp, found they sent me the correct box but with different GFCI sockets, not AFCI in it. One of them was also actively used, in addition to being a GFCI and not an AFCI. Also, some of them were not protected from unauthorized access. Great for peace of mind

Media failed to load. If you came to this page to buy this product, you know what AFCI is and what it does. match the code if you are expanding an existing circuit or starting a new one and they are not making AFCI switches for your panel. This socket is a great alternative to the more expensive AFCI switch and the ONLY alternative if your panel is old and AFCI switches are not made for it.
