The time has come when feeder protection devices against arc flash have come.
It's time to make branch circuit arc protection devices available. I hope they are more reliable than the early AFCI breakers which had a short lifespan and caused too many "nuisance trips". These AFCI sockets are also overpriced. UPDATE: 01/2021. Multiple AFCI/GFCI sockets and GFCI/AFCI switches installed. I can report good reliability (80%) and satisfactory performance. These devices helped identify faulty wiring and bent devices. Looks like you get 9 out of 10 which works well. Once you replace the pesky ones, you have reliability. Prices have stabilized. Now I am convinced of the reliability of these devices.
