📞 Leviton N751-W 1-Gang Box Mount Telephone/Cable Wallplate, Horizontal Split Plate, White, 0.625-Inch Hole Device Review

I recently had to re-route cables to some TVs in preparation for a carpet replacement. I've used a few of these when it wasn't practical to separate cables after they were difficult to get through walls. I did not use the supplied screws for the electrical box. Instead I used a couple of 1" metal screws, carefully driven into the drywall after drilling the pilot holes. So far so good and they look really nice compared to the coax cable just hanging out of the drywall.

The quality is the same as other Leviton outlet covers - I am very satisfied. It's such a practical design, I'm surprised I couldn't find it at my local hardware stores. I took a suggestion from a reviewer and bought an o-ring and painted it white to reduce the distance between the cable and the hole. Other alternatives I considered were plates with brushes or plastic cutouts in the middle to run the cables through. This outlet comes from the ceiling, so that was preferable to me.

This is exactly the solution to the problem. The actual center hole is 3/8" not the 5/8" listed in the description. There is a large 5/8 inch recessed area surrounding the hole that could probably be shaved or filed to that size if needed. Alternatively you can use it to install an o-ring or something else if you want to make the hole smaller to fit something smaller.
