I bought 4 of these glasses from an inferior market leader as this is the only place I can shop locally as this is the case is I live upstate. nowhere. A roommate broke 2 of these by putting them in the sink with other dishes. I still don't know how they broke because of that. They are very durable but glass must be respected. In my experience, this is tough, heavy glass **BUT** with edges prone to chipping. I bought exactly a dozen a year ago and we only have six glasses left. The rest were thrown away with the rims broken off (sharp!). This is in a family of two adults, so the children don't matter. I *think* they chip in the dishwasher, but I'm not sure exactly how they chip. We're starting to use one. We see that the rim has broken off. we throw it away.
