I've always been a big fan of the quality and durability of Lindstrom tools. These did not disappoint us. The only reason I bought them was to replace a 30 year old set that got lost in a move.
My new favorite pliers. Best thing I've bought and as a jewelry designer with 15 years experience I have about 10 sets. I love it. You have the perfect tip. If you are thinking about buying them. Don't think, just do it. It's worth it.
In my jewelry work I mainly do wire weaving, winding and shaping, and chain pliers hold the wire (although the surface is smooth), rarely slip and is severely punished my wire work requires. The edges are beveled and smooth, meaning no unwanted marks left on my wire. I recommend Lindstrom pliers for jewelry work. The investment is definitely worth it.
The quality of Lindstrom tools has gone down since I first bought a full set of the RX Series in 2006. I have been loyal to this brand for many years. Unfortunately, quality control is a big issue. I am already investing in another brand. The handles on this pair will dangle and fall off in less than a year. I make jewelry with them using mostly thin wire so I definitely don't overuse them.
I was very disappointed with the size. Yes it says 51/2 but it doesn't have the weight or slight heaviness that I like because it gives me more control over my wire. I'm a wire weaver and after 2 years I finally decided to upgrade to a higher quality tool but although the tip is ok the handles are not controllable because they are so light. It's just my tool preference. I will keep her tip in perfect condition and learn to control her with small, light hands. I think they come in a larger size.
