Description of Lines Inch Diffraction Grating Sheet

Produced with the goal of minimizing noise – ensuring you get a clear view of the color spectrum. One 6” x 12” sheet with a double axis that has 13,500 Lines/inch. You can directly view and analyze spectra from different gas tubes and other light sources with these large sheets. These sheets can be used over and over again, as long as they are kept clean and crinkle free. Perfect for physics education and visual displays of light diffraction.

Disappointing Diffraction Sheet

After I put it to the test, I was extremely disappointed in the quality of this optic. The lines were too far apart and the grating was flimsy, making it a useless tool for my science classroom..

Pros
  • None
Cons
  • Poor quality and not effective

Disappointing Diffraction Sheet

This diffraction sheet was a disappointment... It did not produce clear lines, which made it difficult for my students to observe the effect. The only positive is that it's made OF durable material. This sheet is not worth the money and I would not recommend it for industrial and scientific use..

Pros
  • Easy to use and cut to desired size
Cons
  • Produces a low resolution (<1000 lines per inch) diffraction pattern

Plate with a good baseline diffraction

I have used the plates to make holographic chocolate. As long as I got the chocolate melted properly (3/4 times) it worked great! Also creates "rainbow" diffraction of light and separates laser beams as expected. Check dimensions before ordering. It fits my needs but runs a bit small.

Pros
  • Ideal for physics classes and visual demonstration of light diffraction
Cons
  • Not as thick as other plates
