Like other reviewers, my shelf had a wood joint when I received it. But it didn't quite fall apart. Decided to stick it on as I liked that this shelf had no side protrusions and best matched my closet (no extension). I really like the wood of the product and the shelves are just what I need. Unfortunately, mine arrived with a lot of damage. I attached it with staples and super glue. I think it's not typical for a product to fall apart upon delivery. After the repair, it looks good and works well. *Update: Superglue didn't work. And I found another crack in the tree. Wow, very cheap construction. I have ordered two of these. One was fine; the other fell apart in the package by itself. They were well packaged in a large box with no other damage and the box itself was undamaged so there were no problems with delivery. The spice racks themselves are not packed in separate boxes, they are simply wrapped in plastic. It looks like the glue just came out here. I could see that it was barely held together with "nails" so thin they were about the size of the staples
