Given to the grandchildren for Easter. They not only hunted eggs, but also threw coins into the field. It was great fun, a great-nephew even wanted to take it home. His father had to promise he could use a real detector at home, so he left this one.

This is the third youth metal detector I bought for Christmas! They all seem to have sound/beep issues. This didn't turn off until I removed the battery. Cannot be used if it cannot be turned off! If you buy cheap, you get cheap - although that's expensive for cheap plastic these days. I guess my next step is to buy an adult for over $100 and hope it works and I stop disappointing my grandkids.

Perfect for your little ones who need a metal detector. Definitely 9 years old. My son is 6 years old and LOVES the treasure hunt so it was a lot of fun and dreams of owning it. We tried the more advanced version that said kids can use it, but it was too hard for my son to navigate and even hold. It's perfect, not too expensive, and simple enough for kids to manage and navigate on their own.
