LocknLock Essentials Flip Top Airtight Containers Review

I have several of these. They were originally grocery store gifts so I bought a lot of these, unfortunately the pieces got lost or destroyed by the dog. They are great for storing dry food to keep pests away. Lock and Lock is better than other products I have used.

I've always loved Lock & Lock cereal storage containers. I've had them for a few years now but got one for my daughter this year because she loved how strong they are. I found the new ones at Revain after browsing many local stores to no avail. Unfortunately, the containers weren't as strong as my previous containers. The top and flip top of the dispenser are quite flimsy, and the top has fallen apart a few times, which doesn't bode well for its longevity. Very disappointed.

The product I received is not as pictured. The lid is solid blue and feels like a different type of plastic than the clear part of the container. The spout is incredibly difficult to open and I think this will be a problem for anyone with arthritis or grip strength issues. Most importantly, while the lid says "sealed" directly, it's definitely not. There is no rubber padding around the spout and does not prevent air/water ingress. I love these cereal containers for storing cereal, keeping it fresh and organizing my pantry. I am only giving them one star because I would like them to have a small "spout" for pouring and the hole is a bit larger. My kids (ages 5 and 8) have a hard time not to overfill because they have to turn over to get the little flakes. Like most Lock and Lock storage containers, the cereal dispenser is of high quality and appears to be reliable. However, it is important to note that it is NOT airtight as Lock and Lock claims. Yes, it has the same silicone seal around the edges of the top and stays securely in place. But the dispensing door above has no seal; it's just plastic on plastic. As you squeeze the container, you will hear air entering and exiting through the dispensing door. Otherwise, I really like the container…
